Indian batter Smriti Mandhana has been displaced as the number one batter in the ICC Women’s ODI rankings. This happened as he failed to keep up her T20I form in the ODI series.

Mandhana top-scored in the T20I series with 221 runs in five matches at an average of nearly 45. In the three-match ODI series, she scored just 115 runs in three games at an average of just 38.33.

It was a historic series for India as they won the T20I series 3-2 and the ODI series 2-1, winning the decider by 13 runs at Chester-le-Street. This was a series dominated by India across all departments of the game.

Smriti Mandhana Replaced By Nat Sciver-Brunt

Meanwhile, it was England’s white-ball skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt who displaced Smriti Mandhana as the new number-one ranked ICC Women’s ODI batter. She was the top-scorer in the ODI series with 160 runs at 53.33 average in the recently concluded three-match ODI series against India.

Mandhana, meanwhile, has dropped to the second position. Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian skipper, is 11 in the rankings after scoring 126 runs in the series. Jemimah Rodrigues is placed 13. She scored 101 runs in the series.

Talking about the ICC Women’s ODI bowlers, the list is led by England spinner Sophie Ecclestone, who finished with five wickets in the series. Ashleigh Gardner, Meghan Schutt, Deepti Sharma and Kim Garth are the other bowlers in the top five list.

Harmanpreet Kaur On Looks Back On Series Win Against England

Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was a pleased skipper, having led her team to T20I and ODI series wins against England. She ended the series with a century in the high-scoring decider. It was the seventh ton of her ODI career. She also looked back at the contributions of several other players in the series win.

“It was a very important match for us and I want to dedicate this knock for my dad, he has been waiting for this kind of knock. I was a little under pressure and wanted to do well for the team and when you work hard the right time will come to deliver. The wicket was good to bat on, and Deepti is someone who will always takes those crucial wickets and everything went to plan, I am really happy. This series was very important preparing ourselves for the World Cup. Before the World Cup, we have 3 ODIs against Australia and we want to do well and continue that momentum into the World Cup” Kaur said after winning the Player Of The Series award.
